Best Buy @15 Scholarship Program

Best Buy Scholarship sponsored by the Best Buy Children’s Foundation, is open to students currently in grades 9-12 living in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, who are planning to attend an accredited U.S. or Puerto Rico college or vocational school after high school graduation. Scholarships are awarded to students who volunteer time to their communities, excel in academics, and participate in extra curricular activities. This year the Best Buy @15 Scholarship Program will award 1,000 scholarships of $1,000 each to students.

The application must be completed electronically online; no paper applications will be accepted.

Science Ambassador Program for Teachers

The CDC Office of Workforce and Career Development’s Career Paths to Public Health Program is now accepting applications for the 2008 Science Ambassador Program.

Science Ambassador is an innovative career development opportunity for middle and high school science teachers. Selected teachers attend a 5-day workshop at CDC’s Atlanta offices where public health professionals, including epidemiologists and behavioral scientists, lead discussions on the history of public health and current public health topics. The learning environment is collaborative, and lectures are based on current research and interventions affecting public health worldwide. Previous topics include HIV/AIDS, teen dating violence, environmental lead exposure, and alcohol abuse.

Lowe’s Foundation Scholarship Programs

Applications are now available for two Lowe’s Scholarship programs, funded by the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation. The Lowe’s Scholarship is available to high school seniors nationwide. The scholarships are funded through Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation. Since its inception in 1957, Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation has helped communities nationwide through employee volunteerism and financial contributions. In 2006, the Foundation supported community and education projects across the country through grants totaling more than $15 million.

Indiana Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program

The Indiana Broadcasters Association (IBA) is pleased to announce its annual Scholarship Program. Scholarships will be awarded to select High School and College students pursuing careers in broadcasting. The scholarships will be good toward educational expenses at any IBA member college or university offering an undergraduate major in Broadcasting, Electronic Media, Telecommunications or Broadcast Journalism.
