Call for grant proposals: The Malevich Society

The Malevich Society is pleased to announce its grant competition for the year 2007.

In the belief that Malevich was a pioneer of modern art, and should be recognized for his key contributions to the history of Modernism, the Society awards grants to encourage research and writing relating to his history and memory. The Malevich Society also sponsors publications devoted to Malevich, as well as translations of his texts, and texts about him, into other languages.

The Society welcomes applications from scholars of any nationality, and at all stages of their career. Proposed projects should increase the understanding of Malevich and his work, or augment historical, biographical, or artistic information about Malevich and/or his artistic legacy.

“BE” BRILLIANT ESSAY CONTEST

This contest is being funded by the Generation BE Foundation and the Athena Institute. The BE Brilliant Essay contest is asking students in middle school, high school, and a two year or four year post-secondary school to write a persuasive letter directed to the business and government leaders of today about the legacy they should be leaving to ensure prosperity and sustainability for future generations. Winners will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and will participate in the Gala Awards Ceremony as an awards presenter at Discover Brilliant International Conference and Expo 2007 on September 18. Leonardo da Vinci Scholarship the Exceptional Life of a True Renaissance Man

Any current student between the ages of 16 and 25 that is currently attending either high school or a post secondary institution= is considered eligible. The Scholarship may be used for any type of costs associated with attending school. This may include, but is not limited to, books, rent, food, automobile costs

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP
In order to be considered for the scholarship you must submit an essay on the “Question” below. The essay must be a minimum of 500 words in length and be accompanied by your full legal name and either your telephone number or mailing address. We
