Minority Graduate Student Orientation Program Award

Open to “New-to-Florida-State-University” graduate students. Upon successfully completing a four-week summer program, recipients receive a $1,300 stipend. This is a program supported by the Florida Board of Trustees. For more information please contact:

Cottrell Scholars Awards

Awards will be made to U.S. and Canadian universities to further the teaching and research of faculty members in Ph.D.-granting astronomy, chemistry, and physics departments. The Cottrell Scholar Awards are designed for institutions and faculty members who wish to excel at both teaching and research. They enable recipients to implement their plans to become outstanding scientists and educators as well as tomorrow’s academic and scientific leaders. The awards also seek to reinforce faculty mentoring, communication, and a heightened appreciation for instruction in university science departments.

Professional Development Awards

Course listings are distributed to OAS General Secretariat Offices in Member States. Full information is available only in this listing.
Purpose: To support advanced training of citizens of the Americas in the priority areas requested by the countries.
Eligibility: Citizens or permanent residents of OAS member States. Candidates who meet the requirements indicated in the course announcement. Candidates must be proficient in the language of instruction of the course. Candidates may not apply for a fellowship in a country of which they are a citizen or permanent resident. (more…)

Kirkland Family Spanish Award Fund

The selection of the recipient(s) of the Kirkland Family Spanish Award Fund will be made by the Faculty of the Spanish Program within the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures. The selection will be made annually provided there are acceptable candidates for the award and sufficient funds. Amount of each award: $1,000.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The Award will be available to upper level undergraduate students (junior or senior level) majoring in Spanish who are currently enrolled or have been admitted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
  • The student(s) selected for this award shall have demonstrated a high level of achievement, as evidenced by academic standing.
  • The award will be given to help off set travel expenses so that the recipient(s) of the award can study abroad at least one semester.
