Special Training College Scholarship in Japan


The Special Training College (Senshu-Gakko) Scholarship offers high school graduates the opportunity to receive professional training in Japan in a variety of vocations.

FIELDS OF STUDY

Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Nutrition, Infant Education, Hotel Management, Tourism, Fashion, Design, Photography and others.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. citizen;
  • Age 17-21 as of April 1, 2008;
  • High school, or equivalent graduate (or those who will graduate by March 2008)
  • Participants must learn the Japanese language and receive instruction in Japanese;
  • Be in good health;
  • Able to arrive in Japan between April 1st and 7th, 2008

TERM OF SCHOLARSHIP
Three years from April 2008 to March 2011

BENEFITS

  • Allowance of 134,000 yen per month (subject to change);
  • Airfare;
  • Arrival allowance of 25,000 yen (subject to change);
  • Exemption from school fees including entrance examination, matriculation and tuition

DEADLINE
Applications must be completed and returned to this office by May 25, 2007.

INTERVIEW AND TESTING
An interview and academic examinations in Mathematics and English will be given in June 2007 at this office in New Orleans.
