The Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship Fund–administered by AIGC–seeks to promote academic achievement and success for American Indian & Alaska Native Students.
Wells Fargo Scholars:
In 2007, the fund will award two $2500 Scholarships to rising undergraduates and potential graduate students in the third or fourth year of a baccalaureate program pursuing an education in Business and a career in the gaming, tourism, financial and hospitality industries. This award has the potential to be renewed throughout the completion of the degree program.
Evaluation:
Students will be evaluated on academic ability by grade point average, class rank, and curriculum rigor. Also evaluated are exhibition of leadership, honors and awards received, community involvement, an essay, a letter of recommendation, intellectual skills beyond the classroom, accomplishments and professional development.
Criteria:
Have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
Will be attending a US accredited college or university as full time degree seeking junior or senior.
Have demonstrated character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extra-curricular activities, academic achievement and motivation to serve and succeed
Meet the federal Pell grant eligibility criteria.
Junior or Senior standing for the 05-06 academic school year.
Proof of enrollment in Federal or State recognized Native American/Alaska Native tribe.
Note: Application for Wells Fargo Scholarship additionally provides eligibility for other AIGC-administered undergraduate awards. You need only complete one application.
