Fellowships to Assist Research and Artistic Creation

Purpose: To further the development of scholars and artists by assisting them to engage in research in any field of knowledge and creation in any of the arts, under the freest possible conditions and irrespective of race, color, or creed.
Eligibility: Citizens and permanent residents of the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Financial Provisions: Average grant in 2003 was approximately US$35,747. No conditions or restrictions apply except for the completion of a report upon completion of the grant. The amounts of the grants will be adjusted to the needs of the Fellows, considering their other resources and the purpose and scope of their plans.
Duration: Six to twelve months.
Deadlines: October 1 for U.S. and Canadian competition. December 1 for Latin America and the Caribbean competition.
