STA Travel Scholarships for Study Abroad


STA, located in the University Center, annually provides two $500 scholarships to the Center for International Education to be used by a UT student to study abroad. Responsibility for awarding these scholarships lies within the Office of the Dean of Students . The Dean, or his designee, will chair a selection committee.

Eligibility:
Open to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in an approved course of study at The University of Tennessee.

Criteria:

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA at the time of application
  • Program length: summer, fall or spring semesters, or full academic year
  • The study abroad program must be a UT-administered program
  • Students studying in less traditional sites will be given priority consideration
  • Students must return to UT for at least one semester after completion of program abroad
  • Limited prior overseas travel
  • Financial need will be taken into consideration


Deadlines:
Spring deadline: March 15th for summer, fall semester or full academic year
Fall deadline: November 15 for spring semester
