National Science Foundation Graduate Research
Each year, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awards approximately 900 fellowships to outstanding students pursuing research-based masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of: Chemistry, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, and Social Sciences. Additional awards are offered for women in engineering and computer and information science.
Qualifications: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents at the beginning or early stages of their graduate studies. Those eligible to apply are college seniors, first-year graduate students, and others who have completed a limited amount of graduate study.
Amount of Award:
The fellowship provides three years of financial support, including an annual $30,000 stipend and $10,500 cost-of-education allowance.
Length of Award: Three years.
Number of Awards: Approximately 900.
