McKnight Doctoral Fellowship
The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship program addresses the under-representation of African American faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Florida by increasing the number of African American citizens qualified to teach with Ph.D. degrees. Students pursue their doctoral degree at one of the 10 participating institutions in the state of Florida.
Qualifications: Applicants must be African-American U.S. citizens holding at least a bachelor’s degree. Students should be interested in pursuing Ph.D. degrees in one of the disciplines in the arts and sciences, mathematics, business, or engineering. The fellowships are to be used at one of the following institutions: Barry University, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Institute of Technology, Florida International University, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, University of Miami, or University of South Florida.
Amount of Award: Full tuition up to $5,000 per year plus an annual stipend of $12,000.

Application Process: Students should register for either the GRE or GMAT (whichever is appropriate) and mail a copy of the scores. Official transcripts, a resume, and three recommendations are also required.
