American Geological Institute
Description: The American Geological Institute funds scholarships to minority students who demonstrate financial need. Scholarships are provided for students enrolled in earth science education or geoscience degree program and its sub-disciplines.

Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen and verify ethnic-minority status (such as Black, Hispanic, or Native American). Applicants must be enrolled full-time in geoscience, including the sub-discipline of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology, or earth-science education.

Amount of Award: $250-$1,000.
Length of Award: One year, with possible renewal.

Application Process: Application must include: signed and fully completed application form, official transcripts for all colleges attended (SAT, ACT, and/or GRE scores are requested), and three letters of recommendation.
