American Political Science Association


Description: The APSA (American Political Science Association) Minority Fellows Program assists minorities in completing their doctorates.
Qualifications: Be a U.S. citizen, demonstrate financial need, and be a member of one of the following minority groups: African Americans, Latinos/as, and Native Americans (federal and state recognized tribes). The program is primarily for students entering a doctoral program in political science for the first time. The applicant must be in his/her senior year applying to a doctoral program in political science, or currently enrolled in a master’s program and applying to a doctoral program. Students should demonstrate an interest in teaching and potential for research in political science.
Amount of Award: $4,000 stipend, typically disbursed in two $2,000 payments at the end of each academic year.
Length of Award: Two years.

Six.
