Jennings Randolph Program for International Peace
Description:
The Fellowship is named after Jennings Randolph, a former U.S. senator from West Virginia. The United States Institute of Peace’s congressional mandate is “to serve the American people through research, education, training, and the dissemination of information about the nature of interstate of civil conflict and peaceful ways to manage and resolve it.” Senior Fellowships are available for outstanding scholars, policymakers, journalists, and other professionals to do research at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington. Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowships are available for doctoral students researching on international conflict and peace.
Qualifications: All citizenships eligible; women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Doctoral students applying for the Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowships must be studying at a U.S. university and have completed all requirements except their dissertation.
Amount of Award: Senior Fellowships:
up to $80,000, reimbursement for some health insurance costs, an office with a computer, and a part-time research assistant. Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowships: $17,000.
Length of Award: Senior Fellowships: 10 months. Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowships: one year.
