AAD: German Studies Research Grant
Description:
The program is “designed to promote study of cultural, political, historical, economical and social aspects of modern and contemporary German affairs from an inter- and multi-disciplinary perspective.”
Qualifications: Undergraduates (with at least junior standing) pursuing German Studies and graduates in the humanities and those working on a “Certificate in German Studies” are eligible to apply. Students must be nominated by their department chairs and be U.S. or Canadian citizens. Applicants should be enrolled full-time and have completed two years of college German.
Amount of Award: A research support of $1,500 to $3,000 is intended help with living and travel costs.
Length of Award: For short-term research.

Application Process:
Students submit curriculum vitae, a research plan and itinerary, a budget statement, a list of German language and study courses taken, two letters of recommendation, a DAAD language certificate, and transcripts.
