WESTERN INTERSTATE COMMISSION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENT EXCHANGES
Applicants must have at least one continuous year of Alaska residency and be enrolled in one of eight professional fields of study, optometry included. Reduced tuition usually amounts to the in-state rate at public schools and one-third the tuition rate at private schools. Alaska reimburses the institution where a WICHE student enrolls. The student does not receive any direct payment. Support continues throughout the student’s program as long as the student remains in good academic standing.
