Ambassadorial Scholarship for the Rotary year 2008-2009

District 5490 is offering the opportunity for qualified candidates to apply for an Ambassadorial Scholarship for the Rotary year 2008-2009. Ambassadorial Scholarships are for University level study abroad by highly qualified candidates and can range from one to two years in duration. Awards are made by the Rotary Foundation and range from $11,500 to $23,000.

Applications can be found on the Rotary International website and must be submitted by the candidate to a Rotary Club in our district. The club prequalifies the potential candidate and forwards the application to the District Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship committee. If the committee determines that a qualified candidate has been identified, it forwards that application to the Rotary Foundation for consideration.

The deadline for applications to be submitted to the District for the 2008-2009 year is July 15th, 2007. Submit all applications to District Foundation Co-Chairs, Gerrit and Carolee Terpstra ( terpstra63@cox.net ).

The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship program is one of the largest and most prestigious private scholarship programs in the world. See the Rotary International website for more information.
