American University Women Camarillo Branch


The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarships to goal-oriented women who after a 3 year break in their college education have returned to college to pursue their first Bachelor’s Degree for a specific career goal. Each applicant must meet the below qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a resident of Ventura County.
  • Applicant must show proof of acceptance at a four-year college for Fall 2006
  • Applicant must be enrolled in or completed a minimum of six (6) semester hours at a college or university at least one semester during the year prior to applying.
  • Applicant must have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 60 semester units earning JUNIOR or SENIOR year status.


Selection Criteria is based on the following:

  • A neatly completed application.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation.
  • A complete college transcript showing satisfactory completion of the required minimum hours for either junior or senior status.
  • Letter of admission sat a four year college or university.
  • A written statement of the applicant’s educational and career goal, personal need and individual effort or personal struggle.

Award amount: $2,000
Deadline: June 30, 2007
