Culinary Arts Entrance Scholarship
The Culinary Arts Entrance Scholarships offers $1,000 tuition scholarship for students entering Culinary Arts – Level One. Students entering College of the Rockies who wish to apply for this entrance scholarship must meet the following eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
To receive a Culinary Arts Entrance Scholarship applicants must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Be a first-year student entering Level One of the Culinary Arts program at College of the Rockies with plans to continue Level Two of the program;
- Achieve a grade of at least 85% in Grade 12 (or equivalent) course work in Foods, Home Economics, or Cooking;
- Submit a letter of recommendation from one of your instructors;
- Submit a student essay briefly describing your academic and career goals;
- Submit a completed application form before November 24, 2006 for the January intake and July 13, 2007 for the September intake.
Application Instructions
- Student Application
- Complete the Student Application form. All applications must be typed. Note: you can type in the application form and print the final copy for submission.
- Essay
- Complete the student essay, maximum 125 words. It’s best to type your essay in a Word document that you can save. Once you are ready (do not forget to spell check and proofread) “cut” and “paste” the text into the essay section of the application form.
- Attach a letter of recommendation from a Foods, Home Economics, or Cooking instructor
- Print, sign and date your completed application
- Submit Application
- Enclose interim statement of Secondary School grades from Grade 11 and 12 or a Secondary School transcript containing completed and in progress courses.
- Submit all of the above including the Student Application form to the College of the Rockies, Student Services by December 8, 2006 for the January intake and July 13, 2007 for the September intake.
Application Deadline: July 13, 2007 (for September ‘07 intake)
