USC Viterbi School of Engineering Master’s Scholar Award
The USC Viterbi School of Engineering Master’s Scholar Award is a merit-based scholarship awarded to outstanding applicants of any full-time engineering master’s program. To support a diverse community, the Master’s Scholar Award encourages students throughout the United States to attend the USC Viterbi School of Engineering by providing award recipients financial support for six graduate units (approximately $6,900 in value).
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for and continue to receive a USC Viterbi
School of Engineering Master’s Scholar Award:
- Must be admitted to a Master’s program within the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.
- Must be attending classes on campus.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Have, at the time of applying, a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.4 and a major in Engineering, Math or Science.
- The Master’s Scholar Award is designed to create a regionally diverse community within the USC Viterbi School of Engineering Master’s programs, therefore, students who have done no previous coursework at USC are likely to receive preference.
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
Master’s Scholar Award recipients must:
- Be enrolled as full-time students (must be taking at least 8 units per semester) while at the USC
Viterbi School of Engineering. - Take courses for credit only. Courses must be applicable toward the degree program.
- Maintain enrollment in the same degree program (major) indicated on the approved scholarship application.
- Maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.
- Award will be distributed in two installments; three (3) units during the recipient’s first semester and three (3) units during the second semester of study.
